A New Endeavor

Thank you for visiting my new blog, dedicated to capturing glimpses of God's creative glory. You can hop on over to my other blog, enough a cynic to believe, to read about our life and all its wonderful (and sometimes not-so-wonderful) adventures.

I've had this idea for a photo blog bouncing around in my head for some time now, but never had the time nor gumption to actually begin the process. My husband and I recently moved to another state so he could attend seminary, so quitting my job (which I loved very much) became a requirement for the moving process. 'Well,' I thought. 'Now I have more time on my hands- at least until I get a new job.' And the lack of gumption? Let's just say that something about unemployment makes me yearn for creativity and expression.

So here we are. Let me first state, quite plainly, that I am not a professional photographer. Most of my pictures are from a point-and-shoot digital camera; I have an older SLR with which I love to fiddle, but that baby isn't even digital. I took one photography class years ago while still in high school, so I know the basics, but if you're a talented photographer, I welcome your critiques and ideas. If you're looking for a talented photographer, I have several amazing friends (all over the country, and in fact, the world) who each have portfolios over which you will simply swoon; I'd be glad to help you get in contact with them.

Even though I am by no means a professional, I firmly believe that sometimes it's hard to not capture the sheer beauty of God's creation with a camera. And so this is why I began this process- as a way for me to more fully worship Jesus the Christ through dwelling on His created goodness. In sharing these images with you, I hope you also draw closer to the glorious One who so artfully designed the world in which we live.

Again, thanks for stopping by. I'm not sure how this endeavor will play out, but I hope you enjoy the journey and are reminded of our holy God's redemptive plan for all creation.
